Did We Really Give Away FREE Wedding Bands? | A Ring of Truth

Did we really give out free wedding bands? Yes, we did. Before you say I’m crazy, let me tell you the story.
You may have heard that Starbucks changed their dress code policy back in late 2014. And this new policy bans their baristas from wearing rings with stones, such as engagement or wedding rings.
Our creative director for our jewelry business, Ashton Yates-Woolley, thought ‘that’s not right!’, and wanted to do something about it. When you are in the jewelry business, love IS a big deal.
So she asked that we donate some of our J.R. YATES wedding bands to the baristas cause. (The wedding bands do not have prongs holding in diamonds which can fall out in customer’s coffee drinks.) To help the local baristas at Starbucks Ashton initiated the #BringBackLoveStarbucks wedding band giveaway.

During February if a barista came into the store and provided proper ID, she/he could get a free wedding band while our allotment lasted. They could choose between a cobalt chrome, titanium or a tungsten wedding band.

Needless to say, once the baristas heard about this it was on! This event created a ton of goodwill in our local community. And many came bearing bags of aromatic coffee as “thank you’s”. But I’m still waiting for my pastry that a certain Kimberly promised to bring in…
